Championship Round 2 in Aarschot

Due to moving to a new place... we were not online during some days... but we are back alive with a new race report of the last weekend Belgian Championship Round 2 in Aarschot

It was a great weekend again for our riders with 4 victories in the different categories.

  • Elite men - Jerome Lange - 4th in the Finals!!!
  • Boys 17 - Nick Scholiers - 1st in the finals!
  • Boys 16 - Bryan Warnier - 1st in the finals!
  • Boys 16 - Yannick Scholiers - 6th in the finals
  • Boys 11 - Jordy Scholiers - 4th in finals
  • Boys 8 - Ruben Gommers - 1st in his finals!
  • Cruisers 30 + - Kurt Van Espen - 1st place!!!
  • Cruisers 30 + - Guy Geerts - 2nd place!

Special note for following riders ...

Let's start with the small guys where Ruben Gommers again took the gold medal in all races... he is just unbeatable! Good old Kurt Van Espen is again in top-shape and doesn't allow anyone to come close to him... even not Guy Geerts, also sponsored by MXM but on Intense... In Boys 16, it is still Bryan Warnier who makes the rules... he decides what's going on in his category... Again he won his finals and makes his leading position in the overall ranking way stronger now. Finally special note for Jerome Lange, our promising young rider, that competes in Elite category (he should be in boys 17 category) to make himselve stronger in the international field! He's riding so smouth and strong...

Next weekend we are at an invitational race (not counting for points) on the brand new track of Ravels... Prestige prestige prestige... that's what it's all about this weekend and practicing for the next European round next week in Germany.

We will come with more pictures and info soon!

Thanks ... sponsors and friends for all your support!!!
Congratulations to all riders!!!

IVO LAKUCS SILVER IN ELITE MEN ON SUNDAY!!!!

This weekend, 7 riders were in France, defending the MXM RACING TEAM colors in La Chapelle Sainte Mesmin. It was in the first Round of the 2006 European championships, that consists of 10 rounds... 2 last weekend in France, 2 in Germany, 2 in Holland, 2 in Hungary and the final 2 rounds in Cheddar, England. We will be at all races with most of our riders.

For these races, most of our riders compete for the first time of their life in this competition, which is world top - level. So for most of them, these races will give them good experiences and make them stronger mainly for National top-results.

5 riders however have possibilities to do really well in the final rankings at the end of the European Rounds. We have Bryan Warnier (for him too, the first year) who can surprise in this competition. There is Jérome Lange (now for the first year in a higher category) who did very well last year with several finals! Kurt van Espen (World ranked nr. 4) is favorite for one of the medals in his 30+ cruiser category. Latvian Rihards Veide did very well last year with an overall 4th place in the Europeans, so he can do well again this year. And finally Ivo Lakucs, current UCI European number one is one of the main favorites for the top-class category... the Elite Men!

There were some nerves here in France under some of our riders, which is normal for the first race. With Veide, Fred Lange and Bryan and Dylan Warnier at home (they will be there at all other rounds!!!), it was mainly Ivo Lakucs that did great here one hour south of Paris. He was 2nd in the finals on Sunday, right after his crash in the 1/8 finals on Saturday (pushed out by 2 French riders in a good 3rd position!). Ivo didn't feel 100% on this course, but he managed to stay focused on podium place ... and he did what we expect from him... riding finals and (almost) winning races!

MXM racing team did very well here in France for this opening race of the international European season. Next 2 weekends, we all go to our national races again, next European Round is in Germany, 14-15 May!

Thanks to all sponsors!!!
